Katy’s formative yoga study was in the style of Kula Yoga (NYC), after which she did her teacher training at Wake Up Yoga. Her 20 years of teaching began in college literature classrooms and spans several years teaching in yoga studios around Philadelphia. In addition to Wake Up Yoga, Katy also teaches at Shiné Yoga in Chestnut Hill.
What excites you about teaching yoga?
Combining movement and poetry is perhaps the most exciting aspect of teaching for me. Teaching yoga is my true love!
What is the most meaningful lesson that yoga has taught you?
Sanity. Yoga creates balance both on and off the mat and gives me piece of mind in my otherwise hectic life.
What do you love most about Wake Up Yoga?
Wake Up Yoga has an integrity of purpose — which is unique in today's world and wholly authentic.
