Deb Callahan

Deb has practiced yoga for over 40 years and earned her E-RYT 200 having completed Wake Up Yoga’s 250-hour Comprehensive Foundational Teacher Training in April 2017 and Dhyana Yoga’s 200-hour Teacher Training in June 2010. Deb also completed Corina Benner’s Yin Teacher Training in May 2015, Jordana Rock-Garden's Yin Teacher Training in May 2011, and Wake Up Yoga’s Restorative Teacher Training in May 2017. Yoga is the one constant that always brought Deb community, connection, and serenity as she and her family moved around the country. Deb seeks to meet all students where they are physically, mentally, and emotionally; work with them to achieve their personal goals; and share in their yoga journey...a journey which inevitably offers more personal growth and enhanced gratitude than they could ever imagine. Her greatest joy is seeing students achieve and surpass their goals —physical, mental, and emotional — and amaze themselves with their own strength and brilliance.

What is the most meaningful lesson that yoga has taught you?

Yoga has taught me to stay put physically, mentally, and emotionally. For me, growth comes from staying...staying with a difficult pose, a tangled mess of thoughts, and powerful emotions — be they pleasant or not.

What do you love most about Wake Up Yoga?

Simply, Wake Up Yoga makes my soul soar. Wake Up Yoga's unique combination of inspiring people, teachers and students, and brilliant spaces always brings me back to myself and my power within.

What's your family like?

I've been married to my best friend for 26 years. We have three fantastic children — Kate 25, Drew 22, and Chris 20 (where did the time go?!) — and an amazing dog, Hope, who thankfully still lives at home.
