Yoga Teachers and Dedicated Students of Yoga: DO NOT MISS THIS WEEKEND!

Save the date and arrange your schedule so that you can savor this rare opportunity to delve into the third chapter, or the Vibhuti Pada, of the Yoga Sutra with such a Masterful Teacher. If you have been yearning to understand the truth of who you really are, this is your long-requested chance to dive deep beneath the surface and peel back yet another layer of the veil that obscures reality.

This is a word by word translation of the chapter.

The Yoga Sutra maps out the entire path and practice of yoga, with the third chapter highlighting the siddhi−s or advanced powers that are awakened in the devout student with sincere practice. So rarely in life are we afforded the opportunity as Westerners to dive so deeply into this ancient text with a teacher who thoroughly understands its' meaning. If you have a passion for the Yoga Sutra and are on a Quest of Self Knowledge, this workshop is NOT TO BE MISSED!

The Yoga Sutra, codified by Patanjali more than 2000 years ago, is the most relevant and important yogic text for the practitioner/teacher. If you study but one text this should be it. In 196 aphorisms, the practice of yoga, including the benefits and pitfalls, is laid out for the dedicated practitioner to comprehend, analyze and apply. The Yoga Sutra is not simply just another package of information that one must again accumulate. Scholarship in Sanskrit and reading texts is not enough, the Yoga Sutra can only be ingested by transmission from a qualified teacher of a long lineage to a student.

We have chosen chanting, meditation and dialogue as the method for transmitting the Yoga Sutra-s from teacher to student in the way that Paul had learned from his teacher. Sanskritic chanting is known to have healing vibrations that transcend the thinking mind and travel directly to the heart, eliciting a visceral attention that empowers comprehension by the student for cultivating the knowledge and the inspiration required to understand this path and succeed.

Paul JJ Alix, a devout student of TKV Desikachar, the Sutra, the Sanskrit language and the path of yoga, shares his passion for the precise pronunciation of the language in an inviting, energizing and elucidating workshop that is sure to spark your desire to walk the yoga talk and cultivate your own deeply committed practice of the Yoga Sutras in your daily life.

DO NOT MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO STUDY WITH THIS EXSQUISTE TEACHER!!! Scholarship in Sanskrit and reading texts is not enough, the Yoga Sutra can only be ingested by transmission from a qualified teacher of a long lineage to a qualified student.

Designed as a Teacher Training Program this weekend Sutra training is open to anyone interested in participating.  We will use chanting of the Yoga Sutra−s as a means of focusing the mind and creating a resonating joy so that we may be open to the depth that these teachings offer us. Students are invited to put away notebooks and allow the clarity of chanting to access their higher intelligence. Expect a very interactive experience as questions are welcome. We will be chanting with proper Sanskrit inflection yet everyone who attends this course is brought into the circle and honored at his/her own level of expertise.
