Scheduled Information Sessions, at the Fairmount Studio:

Dive into the heart of Vinyasa Yoga
Immerse yourself in the teachings, the practice, and the joy, discovering for yourself the timelessness of this ancient practice.
Our program has been carefully crafted to give you the tools necessary to teach a safe, informative and inspiring Vinyasa Yoga class, while cultivating in you qualities of compassion, service and humility. We are a Yoga Alliance Recognized School, and so upon completion you are eligible to enroll with them, becoming a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).
This adventure includes in-depth study of 50 asanas, approaching them in the context of physical alignment, actions in the pose, and hands-on adjustments. Pranayama, the yoga of breath, will be investigated as you chart the movement of life force throughout your body. You will study the human body in physical anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and energy centers (chakras). You will approach the ancient and harmonious language of Sanskrit, so the energizing and healing vibrations of these sounds are transmitted in your teaching. You will study the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, with an eye toward how they are applicable today. You will learn to cultivate a devotional/chanting practice, if that suits your own personal heart. And you will study Shamatha/Vipasana Meditation from an inspired and wise Dharma teacher.
This program offers many opportunities to teach during class. There are exciting and informative books to read and respond to. You will be guided toward cultivating your own daily yoga practice, with the understanding that your teaching comes from your own practice, and you will learn to trust and validate your own experience of yoga.
And, finally, the community that forms throughout this transformative program is one of incredible strength, support and love. Friendships made here are maintained well beyond class time, as you bond with like-hearted individuals committed to walking the same path as you.
Prepare to shed preconceived notions and concepts as you continuously approach the present moment and all the wonder that it holds. This training program is demanding and requires a sincere and solid commitment. And it just may be the alchemy needed to transform your own life into one of inspiration, vitality and joy.
A pre-requisite for enrolling is that you must take a class with Corina. Practicing with Jill Manning is not mandatory, but highly suggested to really savor the flavor of what's in store.
Application deadline is June 11, 2008. Participants will be notified of their acceptance by June 18, 2008.
The outline for this training is:
Every Wednesday, 7:30 – 9:30 pm
Every Other Friday, 7:30 – 9:30 pm
