Renata Gregori
Renata's classes are devotional, heart expanding journeys, exploring asana, pranayama, chanting and meditation as entry points to experiencing the Divine Self. The ecstatic flow is intensely passionate and purposefully challenging, to catapult students to their highest potential, in a joyful and inspiring environment, leading to a rich, nurturing and soul-satisfying experience.
Born to opera singer parents, Renata grew up in Europe, attending German schools, while her parents were singing leading roles in the opera houses. She found Yoga, (which felt like coming home), in 1993, when she was living in New York, working as a professional singer and actress. She decided to immerse herself in the yogic teachings and life style, which brought her to the intensive teacher training program at Satchidananda Ashram - Yogaville, where she received her teacher certification under the guidance and grace of one of the most revered Yoga Masters of our time, Sri Swami Satchidananda (Gurudev). The sacred grounds of Yogaville were profoundly healing and transformational and she decided to continue exploring the yogic path, by moving into the ashram's New York Center - the Integral Yoga Institute, serving as a teacher and assisting their teacher training program in Mexico. She has been teaching yoga ever since and returns to Yogaville every year, to reconnect to her "roots." Renata is strongly influenced by her beloved teacher, Sri Dharma Mittra and is so grateful to all her teachers, who have illuminated the path: Sri Gurudev, Sri Manorama, Sri Mukti, Paul Grilley, Swami Karunananda, Rodney Yee and Krishna Das, among others. Gratitude and reverance to Corina and the beautiful Wake Up Yoga community, Renata is humbled, by the beautiful souls who come to class and are a constant source of inspiration to her and she is privileged, to offer a supportive space for exploration and self-inquiry, on this sacred journey toward Self Realization.
Renata also offers Thai Yoga Massage, having studied, this ancient art for the last three years with beloved Thai Massage Master, Michael Buck (Sri Mukti).
