Jill Blumenstock

Jill began her love affair with yoga in 2003 while braving the challenges of medical school. She soon found herself buried in spiritual books instead of textbooks. After three years of medical school and much soul searching, she withdrew, knowing she had greater gifts to offer the world through yoga. When something changes your life so profoundly and completely, you want to share it with the world.
Jill began teaching yoga in April 2006. She found inspiration through the creativity of Vinyasa Yoga and a home in the warm, welcoming Wake Up Yoga Maha Sangha (great community). She completed her 250 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Wake Up Yoga in 2007 under the direction of her beloved teachers, Corina Benner and Jill Manning, and completed Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Corina Benner in 2006. Jill is honored to be given the opportunity to share her love of yoga and to give back to the community which nourished her yogic journey.
With her extensive knowledge of anatomy and her cheerful sense of humor, she seeks to create a safe, warm, and light-hearted space for her students. She encourages students to peek inside, explore, and connect to the greatest teacher - the teacher within - to find guidance and discover more about their true divine nature. Inspired by spiritual texts, poetry, and life’s latest lessons, she frequently designs her sequencing to explore a spiritual theme or challenge and invites students to reflect on these issues, finding answers within themselves.
Jill is tremendously excited to share her love of yoga with budding yogis and yoginis in the Brand New Beginner Series, sharing this life-changing, inspiring practice. Teaching yoga has brought her great joy and has become the ultimate way to practice yoga and learn more about herself.
Jill lives in NJ with her husband, Fred, and kitty, Jake, in their new home.
