Let your hands touch
something that
makes your eyes smile.
I bet there are a hundred
objects close by that can do
that.
Look at
beauty's gift to us —
her power is so great she enlivens
the earth, the sky, our
soul.

Jake Miller
Received his teacher training through Wake Up Yoga under the direction of Corina Benner and Jill Manning. As Co-Executive Director of Yes! And…, a local non-profit collaborative arts education company, Jake has a passion for teaching as a means of inviting others into the transformative experience of discovering and claiming their own power and voice. Trained as an actor and modern dancer, Jake brings a diversified sensitivity and awareness to his yoga practice. As an educator of both children and adults, he enters the classroom with a philosophy that assumes something particular about the teacher/student relationship: it is the role of the teacher not to fill a lack in the student, for the student lacks nothing, the student arrives whole – it is the task of the teacher to use intuition, compassion, wisdom, knowledge and experience to offer an invitation, to invite the student into his/her own innate and divine power and worth. It is with a focus on the life practices of grace and presence that Jake seeks (both in his own practice and his teaching) the integration, intention, and incarnation of spirit and body.
